Cellist Nadia Brooks is a young artist based in Boston studying under Andrew Mark at the Boston Conservatory. As a lover of chamber music, she founded Trio Taureaux, a piano trio with an interest in diverse programming. Trio Taureaux has performed works of composers of all periods from Rameau to Jennifer Higdon, playing at the Harvard Chamber Music Festival and in a masterclass for the Aspen Trio. Nadia has attended festivals around the world such as Brancaleoni International Music Festival, Altschuler Music Institute, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Cincinnati Young Artists, and Hunter International Music Festival.
Nadia was also a winner of the Suncoast Music Competition, performing a gala sponsored by the Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota. With a passion for contemporary and underperformed music, Nadia has performed works by Walton, Britten, Casarrubios, Bacewicz, and Gubaidulina. Nadia has been a member of Boston Conservatory Orchestra, Brockton Symphony Orchestra, Interlochen’s World Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Sarasota Orchestra’s side by side series. Nadia has had the privilege of playing in masterclasses with artists such as Peter Wiley, Melissa Kraut, Christine Lamprea, Zlatomir Fung, and Darrett Adkins. Previous teachers include Scott Kluksdahl, Kate Kayaian, Helga Winold, and Natalie Helm.
